Sand Casting is to use tempered sand as the mold material. Sand is packed onto wood or metal pattern halves and removed from pattern. The top and bottom halves are assembled with or without sand cores. Molten metal is poured into resultant mold cavities. Break molds to obtain castings. The old and well-know metal casting is relatively cheap for patterns and molds. The mold material can be recycled and the operating costs are low.
